The Way Within
Traveled from the origin to the tails of rivers,
Leaped from mountains to the sky,
Met a thousand souls,
Tread from ruins to the castles of fallen kings.
But none could serve what I sought...
A mere flavor of peace, a whisper of fulfillment.
Alas, it was futile, and I should retreat,
Spoke the weary spirit of mine.
But was it?
Had I met the shores of disappointment,
Or was a new path awaiting as I turned back?
To my astonishment, the retreat bore flavors unknown,
For as I walked deeper within, I discovered the unseen.
I met the howls of the past,
Echoes of a future painted in contrastless hues,
Yet, it was the way... the way within
That I should have sought from the very start.
For it may seem that all the glory at a distance holds the answers,
But no, my men, the truth lies in the journey within.
Now the mirage of distant glitters has lost its charm,
For the way within has revealed the rightful path.
As I march inward, my quiver fills with cards...
Cards to rule the life that may present horrors in sight.
Now I no longer fear the unknown,
For my spirit is more joyous than even light.
O’ men of the past, follow my path...
Not for the end of your miseries,
But to fill your quiver with the wisdom
To master the game of life.
